Onion Chutney Recipe | Onion Chutney for Idli & Dosa

I am pretty very much sure that having plain idli  or dosa in the morning will give an incomplete feeling to all food lovers. It is perfect only when you serve it with a tasty chutney.There are a wide varieties of chutneys. Chutneys can be made with coconut,mint,onoin,ginger,garlic,tomato etc.Here , I am going to share a very tasty onion and tomato chutney, that goes very well with idli and dosa. It is prepared using the always available ingredients at our kitchen.This Onion chutney pairs also well with vadas, uttappam or even pakoras. Try out this tasty  chutney and pour in your comments. Ingredients

Sabola- 2 big

Tomato-1

Red chillies- 2-3

Oil

Mustard seeds- 1 tsp

Curry leaves

Method

  • Cut the onion and tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in  a pan and saute the  chopped onion and red chillies, till it becomes translucent. Saute on low to medium flame.Add salt in between so that the onion will become translucent faster.Now  add tomatoes and saute till it is cooked.
  • Remove from fire.Allow it to cool.Take a mixed grinder and make a paste of the sauted mix  and add boiled and cooled water if required. Adjust the consistency of the chutney according to your choice and transfer it to a bowl.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds when it splutters add curry leaves and red chillies and add this on top of the onion mix  .
  • Delicious and tasty Onion chutney is now ready to serve.
