Carrot halwa popularly known as Gajar halwa is a popular dish of north Indians and has now taken a prominent place in most of the parties and festivals.It is one of the classical dish which will impress anyone.Carrot halwa is a simple dessert which can be prepared very easily.This carrot halwa is prepared using grated carrot,milk and sugar.
Here is the recipes of a quick and tasty version of carrot halwa.
Ingredients
Grated Carrot- 2 cups
Sugar- 1/2 cup
Milk-2 cups
Ghee- 1 tbsp
Raisins- 1 tbsp
Flaked badam-1 tbsp
Cardamon powder- a pinch
Method
- Heat ghee in a pan and roast cashews and raisins.Keep it aside
- Now add carrot and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add milk into the carrot and pressure cook for one whistle.
- When the pressure releases, cook on low flame till the milk evaporates.
- Add sugar and mix and cook till the mix becomes thick.
- Add cardamon powder,raisins and cashews and cook for another 2-3 second.
Carrot halwa is now ready.Serve this delicious carrot halwa hot or warm.
