Sieve together All Purpose Flour and Baking Powder 2-3 times and keep this aside.

Add the dry ingredients in three additions and milk in 2 additions alternatively beginning and ending with flour.

Transfer 1/3 of the batter to another bowl and gently fold in the prepared dates mix into it.

Take two piping bags and transfer the batters into it. You could also pour the batter directly into the cake tin. But i strongly recommend You to use piping bags so that you will get a better design . Now squeeze out equal amount of the dates batter into the cake tin leaving space in between. Now pour the vanilla batter in the gaps. Pour the vanilla and dates batter alternatively to get a nice marble effect. Now use a fork or tooth pick to swirl the batter to get a better marble effect. Garnish the top with almond flakes.

Bake the cake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake from oven and place on a wire rack to cool down.

Invert the cake onto a serving platter. Let the cake sit for at least one hours before serving. Cut with a serrated knife.
