Ingredients
  • Chakka varattiyathu-200gm
  • Jaggery-350gms
  • Thick coconut milk-1cup
  • Medium  thick coconut milk-2cups
  • Cardamom powder-1tsp
  • Ghee-2 Tsp
  • Cashews-2-3 Tsp
  • Dried ginger powder-1tsp
  • Thengakotthu/coconut bits-2 Tsp
Instructions
  1. Melt the jaggery by adding little water, stain off the impurities and keep it aside .
  2. Take a heavy bottom pan on medium flame. Mix together medium thick coconut milk and chakka varatti until a thick paste form.
  3. Add jaggery syrup into this and mix. Cook until you get a thick consistency.
  4. Add thick coconut milk and mix. Turn off the flame.
  5. Fry coconut bits and cashews in ghee and add this into the payasam.
  6. Add cardamom powder and dried ginger powder and mix.
  7. Chakka Pradaman is now ready to serve.
