Fish Biriyani

Ingredients
  • Basmati rice-2 cups
  • King fish-1/2 kg(500 gms)
  • Ginger-1 piece
  • Garlic-10
  • Green chillies-6
  • Curd-1 /2 cup
  • Lemon juice- ½
  • Ghee-2 tbsp
  • Tamarind pulp-1 lemon sized soaked in water
  • Onion-2( sliced and fried)
  • Corriander leaves( Kothamalli)
  • Mint leaves
  • Cumin- a pinch
  • Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
  • Powdered cardamon,cloves & cinnamon-1/2 tsp
  • Salt-1½ tsp
  • Sweet cumin-a pinch
  • Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Instructions
  1. Cook the rice by adding 4 cups water and little salt in pressure cooker.
  2. Heat  1 tbsp ghee in a deep bottom pan and add in Fish, green chillies, garlic,ginger, mint leaves,corriander leaves, curd, powdered Cardamon, cloves and cinnamon,Pepper powder, cumin powder, sweet cumin powder,salt, turmeric powder,fried and sliced onion,Tamarind pulp, Lemon juice of half lemon and all ingredients and mix  . Cover with a lid.
  3. Cook for 5 mins in low flame.
  4. Now add the cooked rice on top and add the fried onion  and spread ghee. Cover and cook on low flame still steam comes. Turn of fire .
  5. Serve with Raita and Dates  chutney.
