Here goes the recipes for a tasty and simple fish biriyani.
Ingredients
Basmati rice-2 cups
King fish-1/2 kg(500 gms)
Ginger-1 piece
Garlic-10
Green chillies-6
Curd-1 /2 cup
Lemon juice- 1/2
Ghee-2 tbsp
Tamarind pulp-1 lemon sized soaked in water
Onion-2( sliced and fried)
Corriander leaves( Kothamalli)
Mint leaves
Cumin- a pinch
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Powdered cardamon,cloves & cinnamon-1/2 tsp
Salt-1 1/2 tsp
Sweet cumin-a pinch
Pepper powder- 1 tsp
Method
- Cook the rice by adding 4 cups water and little salt in pressure cooker.
- Wash and clean the fish in lime juice.
- Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a deep bottom pan and add in fish, green chillies, garlic,ginger, mint leaves,corriander leaves, curd, powdered cardamon, cloves and cinnamon,pepper powder, cumin powder, sweet cumin powder,salt, turmeric powder,fried and sliced onion,tamarind pulp, lemon juice of half lemon and all ingredients and mix . Cover with a lid.
- Cook for 5 mins in low flame.
- Now add the cooked rice on top and add the remaining fried onion and spread ghee on the top layer. Cover and cook on low flame still steam comes. Turn of fire .
Serve with Raita and Dates chutney.
