Green Peas Curry | Green Peas Masala | Mattar Masala

An easy and simple green peas curry which can be prepared very quickly. This is a very delicious green peas curry where peas is cooked with onion and tomatoes. All the ingredients are cooked together so that you don’t need to roast masalas separately. This curry can be easily prepared if you are in a hurry. You don’t require to spend your time in the kitchen waiting for the masalas not to get burnt and the so. It goes well with appam, Idiyappam, chappati and so on.

Ingredients

Green peas- 1 cup

Onion-1

Tomato-1

Ginger-1 tbsp

Garlic- 1tbsp

Green chillies-2

Curry leaves-1-2 strigs

Red chilli powder-1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

Masala powder-1/2 tsp

Salt- to taste

Oil

Mustard seeds-1 tsp

Shallots-2 -3

Red chillies-2

Method

  • Wash and Soak green peas overnight.
  • Take a pressure cooker and add in green peas, chopped Onions, tomato, green chilies, ginger, garlic, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, masala powder, and salt. Pressure by adding 2 cups of water for 4-5 whistles.
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seed, onion, curry leaves red chilies and saute till done.
  • Add this seasoning into the cooked green peas curry and serve with Appam, idiyappam, chappati…

Instructions
