Kheer (Payasam)

A quick and easy rice kheer recipe. Kheer is a South Asian rice pudding made by boiling rice, broken wheat, or vermicelli with milk and sugar; it is flavoured with cardamom, raisins, saffron, cashew nuts, pistachios or almonds. It is typically served during a meal or as a dessert.This is a very simple recipes using milk maid.

Kheer (payasam)

 

Ingredients

Milkmaid- 1 tin
Raw rice-100g
Milk -1 litre
Cashew nuts-as per requirement
Cardamom powder- as per taste

Method
• Clean the rice and cook it in pressure cooker by mixing it with milk.
• Add the milkmaid into the cooked rice and cook for another 7 mins.Please don’t forget to stir the mixture.
• Garnish with cashew nuts and powdered cardamom to the kheer when it thickens.
• Serve hot or cold, if it is served cold add little sugar into it.
