We mothers are greatly responsible for the health of our kids. We should have great control of food of our kids from four years onwards. We should be very careful while packing Tiffin for our kids.
If you are packing biscuits and breakfast items for lunch then you should know that you will have to visit the pediatrician again and again. Filling the stomach using bakery items is also an unhealthy practice. So make sure that you prepare a healthy snack for your kid when they come hungry after the school.
Here is a very simple recipe of a very healthy Potato bhaji that you could make within 15 minutes. Try this healthy and tasty recipes of potato bhaji and fill the stomach of your kids as well as your loved ones. Bhaji is very easy to make .You could make this using vegetables like brinjal, cauliflower, raw plantain, chilly etc..

Ingredients
Potato (big)-1
Basen flour/Bengal gram flour ( kadala mavu)-3/4 cup
Chilly powder-1/2 tsp
Asafetida -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder-a pinch
Baking soda- a pinch
Salt – as per taste
Water-
oil- for frying
Method
- Wash the potatoes well and make thin round slices of potato.You could either peel of the skin or keep it.Do according to your preference.
- In a bowl, mix basen and all the other ingredients by adding little water .Mix nicely with your hands. The batter should neither be thick nor thin so add water accordingly.Taste the batter and test for salt.
- Heat oil in a pan. Adjust the heat when the oil is really hot.
- Dip the potato slices one by one in the batter .Make sure that it is nicely coated with the batter .
- Drop it gently into the oil. you can fry 3-4 at a time depending on the quantity of oil .
- Cook both the sides by turning the sides until golden brown.
- Remove the excess oil using tissue paper.
Serve hot with chutney or sauce. Isn’t it delicious?
